We are looking for a talented Electrical or Mechanical engineer to be based in Athens, Greece. You will join our dynamic operations and maintenance (O&M) team successfully maintaining 300 megawatts (MW) of plants. They also remotely monitor approximately 1 gigawatt (GW) of photovoltaic (PV) plants across Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA). 
 
You are a holder (or being eligible for immediate issuing) of a Certified Installer / Maintainer License for all categories and sizes of electrical installations (published by the Prefecture Office), you coordinate different parties under pressing situations and enjoy frequent travelling to our project sites.

Your contribution to the energy transition

As an O&M Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance activities for the O&M portfolio of PV Plants for JUWI Hellas. You can expect to spend around 70% of your working time in the office (Athens) and around 30% of your time traveling and visiting PV project sites all over Greece. You can look forward to the following tasks.
 
You:
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance works, as well as landscaping and panel cleaning tasks, in line with the contractual requirements, company policies and procedures, legal framework and best industry practice.  
  • Perform specialized maintenance activities (scheduled or unscheduled) on site, such as MV maintenance, protections testing, IR inspections, I-V curve tests, megger tests, inverter’s troubleshooting, communication network’s troubleshooting, etc. 
  • Perform regular inspections in the PV Plants.
  • Manage JUWI’s O&M subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Contribute to the maintenance activities in the Kozani 204 MWp plant operated by JUWI Hellas, cooperating with the local O&M team. 
  • Manage special O&M projects (improvement works, repowering, etc.).
  • Assist with O&M back-office tasks (updating the database, drafting reports and notifications to the clients, etc.).
  • Contribute to the (remote / from home) stand-by, during weekend and public holidays, of the O&M team (based on a roster).  

Your energy is required

You impress us with these qualifications:
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree (AEI or TEI).
  • Holder (or being eligible for immediate issuing) of Certified Installer / Maintainer License for all categories and sizes of electrical installations (published by the Prefecture Office). 
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the engineering, construction and/or maintenance of PV plants or other renewable energy (RE) powerplants.
  • Working experience with medium voltage (MV) / low voltage (LV) substations, including transformers, switchgear, relays, etc.
  • Working experience with central inverters will be considered a plus.
  • Working experience with SCADA and communication networks will be considered a plus.
  • Good knowledge of PV Systems basic design (sizing of PV strings and inverters, cable calculations, etc) will be considered a plus.
  • Good knowledge of HSE procedures and regulations.
  • Very good IT skills, emphasizing on MS Excel.
  • Good working knowledge on AUTOCAD.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Good administrative and reporting skills.
  • Ability to coordinate different parties under pressing situations.
  • Good knowledge of English language (both spoken and written).
  • Physically fit and able to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to travel and stay outside Athens (within Greece) for about 30% of their working time.
