- Accounting

- Ensure integrity of Accounting Entries, including sales, payments, expenses/purchases, salaries, journals, processing of cashbooks, etc.
- Ensure and manages the efficient and effectiveness of Weekly Payment Run(s)
- General Ledger Accounts Maintenance including Sub Ledger Accounts i.e. creditors and debtors
- Responsible for Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register(s)
- Responsible for Weekly & Month-End Reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, sub ledger reconciliations, supplier reconciliations, etc.
- Responsible for Clearing of Monthly Group IC Reconciliations on LUCANET i.e. ensure completeness off IC Billings, etc.
- Preparation of period end journal postings i.e. IFRS15, IFRS16, IFRS9, depreciation, payroll, accrual, etc.
- Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Reporting Packs in LUCANET (for review and approval by the FM)
- Assist FM with the Quarterly Tax Reporting “GTC” as well as Mid-Year Notes Disclosures “KAN”
- Liaise with the external auditors, during prelim and year-end audits, to ensure that the year-end audit is completed timeously.
- Manage the Preparation of the Annual Financial Statements of the various JUWI ZA Group Companies, as well as for the Consolidated Annual Financial Statements of the JUWI ZA Group of Companies.
- Sage Intact administration (Project maintenance, GL maintenance, User maintenance, etc.)
- Assist FM with Implementation of Monthly Closing Checklist, and Manage Monthly Closing Checklist Sign-Off [by Junior Accountants]
- Forecasting / budgeting process

- Preparation and Tracking of Operating Expense “OPEX” Budgets plus maintaining/updating of Operating Expense Forecast (including Depreciation)
- Preparation of Operations and Maintenance “O&M” Budgets plus maintaining/updating of Operations and Maintenance Forecast.
- Liquidity planning

- Prepare Accurate and Timely OPEX & Development Expenses Cash Flows/Liquidity Forecasts
- Assist FM with Monthly/Biweekly TIP “Cash Flow” Update.
- Reporting

- Prepare timely reporting in terms of all MVV & JUWI Group reporting requirements to JUWI Group Corporate Taxation and Accounting Department “CAT”
- Perform any other ad-hoc controlling task as required in collaboration with FM (i.e. quarterly supplier spending etc.)
- Prepare reporting to other stakeholders as required (Internal and External, i.e. Minority Interest Reporting etc.)
- Ensure timely monthly/quarterly reporting to Economic Development & Project Development Teams
- Other as required
- Statutory compliance for the ZA Group

- Liaise with JUWI ZA Banker(s) to Ensure foreign exchange compliance i.e. ensure IC Service Level Agreements and Work Orders are in place and where necessary registered with SARB
- Preparation and Submission of VAT returns, including timely payment of all VAT amounts due
- Assist HR with the Preparation and Submission of EMP201 returns, including timely payment of all PAYE Tax amounts due.
- Assist FM with the preparation and submission of Income Tax returns, including timely payment of all Income Tax amounts due
- Assist FM with various compliance related queries to ensure general Compliance i.e. SARS, Stats SA, etc.
- ICS processes

- Ensure implementation of ICS processes (in collaboration with the FM)
- Execute and prepare Quarterly ICS Control Monitoring task.
- People management

- Responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of the Junior Account(s) and Creditors Clerk
- Assist FM to ensure Juniors Accountant(s) and Creditors Clerk is equipped to perform their duties.
- Assist FM to ensure annual Target Agreements are in place for Junior Accountant(s) and Creditors Clerk
- Assist FM with the conclusion of Target Agreement reviews and performance management discussions for Junior Accountant(s) and Creditors Clerk
Your energy is required
- Finance/ Accounting Degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant
- Proven experience in supervising a team
- Experience in managing ICS advantageous
- Ability to draft monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Good to advanced Excel and MS Office skills
- Self-starter/able to work independently
- Analytical thinker and problem solver
- Strong oral and written skills
- Honesty and integrity
- Ability to work within a matrix organization
- Ability to interact with different stakeholders at all levels important
